Red Dunes Games – Sole Proprietorship LLC (“Red Dunes”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect Personal Information in connection with our games, websites, player support, playtests, promotions, and related services. For purposes of this Privacy Policy, “Personal Information” means information that identifies you, relates to you, or can reasonably be linked to you, as defined under applicable privacy law.
This Privacy Policy is the authoritative public privacy notice for the Services described below. It may be linked from Red Dunes websites, game storefronts, platform pages, and other product listings where a privacy-policy URL is required or appropriate.
1. Scope and Relationship with Other Terms
This Privacy Policy applies to Personal Information processed by or on behalf of Red Dunes in connection with:
- games published, distributed, operated, or supported by Red Dunes, including demos, downloadable content, updates, and related software;
- Red Dunes websites and online pages that link to this Privacy Policy;
- player, customer, and technical support;
- playtests, surveys, competitions, promotions, giveaways, and events; and
- other Red Dunes products or services that expressly refer to this Privacy Policy.
Together, these are referred to as the “Services”.
A particular game or service may include an additional game-specific privacy notice where its features require more detailed information. A game-specific notice supplements this Privacy Policy and will take priority only for the processing activity specifically described in that notice.
Third-party platforms, storefronts, online services, developers, websites, and applications may process information independently under their own privacy policies and terms. Section 4 explains this relationship in more detail.
2. Personal Information We May Obtain
The Personal Information we process depends on the Service, platform, game features, and choices you make. Not every category below applies to every player, game, or website visitor.
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
We may obtain information that you choose to provide when you contact us, request support, register for a playtest or promotion, subscribe to communications, complete a survey, or otherwise interact with us. This may include:
- name and contact details, such as an email address;
- platform username, online ID, display name, or gamertag;
- the game, platform, and device you are using;
- the contents of communications, support requests, feedback, or survey responses;
- screenshots, videos, save files, crash files, log files, or other attachments you voluntarily provide;
- information needed to administer a playtest, competition, giveaway, promotion, or event, such as eligibility information or shipping details where a physical item must be delivered; and
- marketing preferences and consent choices.
Please do not send passwords, complete payment-card details, government identification documents, or other sensitive information unless Red Dunes specifically requests information through an appropriate process.
2.2 Platform and Account Information
Our games may be distributed or supported through third-party platforms and services, including Steam/Valve, PlayStation/Sony Interactive Entertainment, Xbox/Microsoft, Nintendo, the Epic Games Store/Epic Games, and other platforms we may use in the future.
Depending on the relevant platform and game features, Red Dunes or the game developer may receive limited information made available through platform services or APIs, such as:
- platform account identifiers, including a Steam ID, PlayStation Online ID, Xbox user identifier (including XUID where applicable), Nintendo-related identifier, Epic account identifier, or similar identifier;
- display name or gamertag;
- country, region, language, or age-range information where made available by the platform;
- game ownership, licence, downloadable-content ownership, or entitlement information;
- achievements, trophies, scores, rankings, gameplay statistics, or leaderboard information;
- multiplayer, session, party, friends, or social information where required for a supported online feature and permitted by the relevant platform;
- cloud-save or game-progress information where a title supports those features; and
- technical, enforcement, diagnostic, or support information relating to the game.
Red Dunes does not request or collect your Steam, PlayStation, Xbox/Microsoft, Nintendo, or Epic account password. Authentication credentials for those platform accounts are handled by the relevant platform provider.
2.3 Technical and Diagnostic Information
A game, platform, website, authorised developer, or service provider may automatically process limited technical and diagnostic information, including:
- device, console, or computer type;
- operating system, browser, software, and game version;
- language and regional settings;
- IP address or general network information where technically necessary;
- device, installation, session, or platform identifiers where applicable;
- error messages, crash reports, diagnostic logs, and performance information;
- loading, latency, connectivity, and stability information;
- date and time of access or gameplay session; and
- security, integrity, fraud-prevention, or anti-abuse information where relevant to the Service.
2.4 Gameplay and Service-Usage Information
Depending on the game and its features, we or authorised partners may process information such as:
- gameplay progress, save data, settings, and preferences;
- achievements, trophies, missions, levels, characters, or features used;
- session frequency and duration;
- gameplay statistics and performance information;
- multiplayer matches, rankings, matchmaking, and leaderboard information;
- reports concerning technical problems, cheating, abuse, or prohibited behaviour; and
- other information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, or improve the relevant game feature.
For games that do not use online services, analytics, cloud saves, or similar connected features, some gameplay information may remain only on your device and may not be transmitted to Red Dunes.
2.5 Purchases and Transactions
Purchases made through Steam, PlayStation, Xbox/Microsoft Store, Nintendo eShop, Epic Games Store, or another third-party storefront are processed by the relevant platform or payment provider. Red Dunes does not normally receive or process your complete payment-card or banking information for those transactions.
We may receive limited transaction-related information, such as the product or downloadable content purchased, entitlement status, platform, general sales territory, refund or chargeback status, or information needed to resolve a purchase or entitlement issue.
If Red Dunes later offers direct purchases or other payment services, we will provide additional privacy information where required.
2.6 Website and Cookie Information
When you visit a Red Dunes website, we may process technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages visited, referring website, access time, cookie identifiers, consent preferences, and website performance or security information. Section 10 provides further information about cookies and similar technologies.
2.7 Information from Developers and Other Partners
Red Dunes works with external game developers, co-development studios, porting partners, quality-assurance providers, localisation providers, platform providers, and other specialists. We may receive information from these parties where necessary to publish, operate, troubleshoot, secure, maintain, test, or support a game or other Service.
3. Purposes and Legal Bases for Processing
We process Personal Information only for legitimate and identified purposes. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, these purposes and legal bases may include the following.
3.1 Providing and Performing the Services
We may process information where necessary to provide a game, feature, support service, playtest, promotion, or other Service you request, including to verify ownership or entitlement, operate supported online features, maintain game progress, and respond to requests. Where applicable, this processing is necessary to perform a contract with you or to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
3.2 Operating, Supporting, and Improving Games
We may process information to diagnose crashes and bugs, maintain compatibility, measure technical performance, test updates, improve gameplay and accessibility, manage quality assurance, and understand how a Service performs. Where applicable, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating, securing, maintaining, and improving our products, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
3.3 Security, Integrity, and Abuse Prevention
We may process information to protect players, our games, our systems, and our partners; investigate fraud, cheating, security incidents, or misuse; enforce applicable rules and terms; and protect legal rights. Where applicable, this processing is based on legitimate interests or legal obligations.
3.4 Customer and Technical Support
We use information provided through support channels to respond to questions, investigate issues, resolve entitlement or technical problems, and communicate with you about your request. This may be necessary to perform a contract or based on our legitimate interests in supporting our Services.
3.5 Marketing and Communications
We may send newsletters or promotional communications where you have requested them, provided consent where required, or where applicable law otherwise permits. You may unsubscribe at any time. Withdrawing marketing consent will not affect your ability to use a game or other Service unless the relevant communication is strictly necessary to provide that Service.
3.6 Legal and Regulatory Requirements
4. Gaming Platforms, Storefronts, and Online Services
Third-party gaming platforms independently operate their own accounts, storefronts, commerce systems, networks, parental controls, communications systems, achievements, cloud services, and other platform functionality. Their collection and use of Personal Information is governed by their own privacy policies and terms.
This Privacy Policy covers Personal Information that Red Dunes receives or processes in connection with those platforms. It does not replace the privacy policy of Valve, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Microsoft, Nintendo, Epic Games, or another independent platform provider.
Data received from a platform is used and disclosed only as permitted by the applicable platform requirements, agreements, permissions, and law. Where a platform imposes additional restrictions on use, retention, disclosure, advertising, or deletion of platform-sourced data, Red Dunes will apply those restrictions to the relevant data.
4.1 Xbox and Microsoft Services
Where a game integrates Xbox network services, limited Xbox player data may be made available to support the game, such as an Xbox user identifier (XUID), gamertag, connections with other players, and activity information including usage data, statistics, scores, rankings, or social activity. Such information is used only as permitted by Microsoft requirements and applicable law, including for delivery and operation of the relevant game features. Platform-sourced player data is not provided to advertising networks, data brokers, or other advertising or monetisation services where prohibited by Microsoft requirements.
4.2 Epic Games Store and Epic Online Services
A Red Dunes game may be distributed through the Epic Games Store and may, where applicable, use Epic Online Services or Epic Account Services. If a title uses Epic Account Services, account information made available to the title depends on the features configured for that product and the permissions or consent associated with the relevant Epic service. Epic Games also independently processes information under its own privacy policy.
4.3 Other Platform Services
Steam/Valve, PlayStation/Sony Interactive Entertainment, Nintendo, and other platform providers may similarly process account, purchase, gameplay, technical, and platform information independently. The specific information available to Red Dunes varies by game, platform, account settings, and enabled features.
5. Providing and Sharing Personal Information
We may disclose Personal Information only where reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and subject to applicable law and relevant platform restrictions. Recipients may include:
- authorised Red Dunes employees, officers, and contractors who require access for their work;
- game developers, co-development studios, porting partners, quality-assurance providers, localisation providers, and support partners where permitted and necessary for the relevant Service;
- platform and storefront providers, including Valve, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Microsoft, Nintendo, Epic Games, and other distribution or online-service providers;
- technology and service providers supporting hosting, cloud infrastructure, analytics, crash reporting, diagnostics, cybersecurity, customer support, communications, email delivery, surveys, or website operations;
- professional advisers, including lawyers, accountants, auditors, insurers, and tax advisers;
- courts, regulators, law-enforcement bodies, investigative authorities, and other public authorities where disclosure is lawfully required or reasonably necessary to protect legal rights; and
- prospective purchasers, investors, advisers, or successor organisations in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.
Red Dunes does not sell Personal Information for monetary consideration as a business practice. If we introduce advertising technologies or other processing that constitutes a “sale”, “sharing”, or targeted advertising under an applicable privacy law, we will provide any required notice and controls before or when that processing begins.
6. International Processing and Transfers
Red Dunes is based in the United Arab Emirates and works with developers, platforms, service providers, and business partners in multiple countries. Personal Information may therefore be processed outside the country where you live.
Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, Red Dunes will use an appropriate recognised mechanism, which may include contractual data-protection commitments, approved standard contractual clauses, transfers to jurisdictions recognised as providing adequate protection, consent where legally appropriate, or another lawful transfer mechanism.
7. Retention, Storage, and Security
7.1 Retention
We retain Personal Information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including to provide and support a Service, maintain security and integrity, comply with legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and protect legal rights.
Retention periods may vary according to the nature of the information, the relevant game or platform, whether an online feature or entitlement remains active, the time needed to resolve a support request, applicable limitation periods, and legal or regulatory requirements. When information is no longer required, we will delete, anonymise, or securely isolate it where appropriate.
7.2 Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, contractual, and organisational safeguards designed to protect Personal Information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure, unauthorised access, and other unlawful processing. These safeguards may include access controls, confidentiality obligations, authentication measures, security monitoring, and encryption where appropriate.
No system or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Players should also protect their platform accounts, devices, passwords, and authentication information and should contact the relevant platform provider if they believe a platform account has been compromised.
8. Rights of Users
Depending on where you live and subject to applicable law, you may have some or all of the following rights in relation to Personal Information processed by Red Dunes:
- to request confirmation of whether we process your Personal Information and to request access to it;
- to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete Personal Information;
- to request deletion of Personal Information;
- to request restriction of certain processing;
- to object to certain processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing;
- to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- to request a portable copy of certain information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format where the right applies;
- to opt out of certain sale, sharing, targeted-advertising, or profiling activities where such rights apply; and
- to complain to an appropriate data-protection or privacy authority.
These rights may be subject to exceptions and limitations under applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request and may request information reasonably necessary to locate the relevant records.
Some information is controlled solely by a platform provider. Requests relating to your Steam, PlayStation, Xbox/Microsoft, Nintendo, Epic, or other platform account may therefore need to be submitted directly to that provider.
9. Children and Younger Players
Some Red Dunes games may be suitable for or enjoyed by younger players. Red Dunes does not knowingly seek to collect or process Personal Information directly from children under the age of 13, or under a higher minimum age where required by applicable law, without appropriate parental or guardian authorisation.
Platform accounts, age settings, family accounts, and parental controls are generally administered by the relevant platform provider. Parents and guardians should review and use the parental-control and family-safety features offered by the applicable gaming platform.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided Personal Information directly to Red Dunes without appropriate permission, please contact us using the details in Section 13. We will investigate and take appropriate action, which may include deleting the information or obtaining valid parental authorisation where permitted and required.
Where a game is specifically directed to children or introduces independent accounts, communications, user-generated content, advertising, or other features that require additional child-privacy controls, Red Dunes may provide an additional game-specific notice and appropriate parental mechanisms.
10. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Red Dunes websites may use cookies, local storage, pixels, or similar technologies to operate and secure the website, remember preferences, maintain sessions, diagnose errors, measure website performance, and support embedded content or other website features.
Where applicable law requires consent for non-essential cookies or similar technologies, those technologies will be used only after the required consent has been obtained. You may be able to manage cookies through the cookie controls displayed on the relevant Red Dunes website and through your browser settings.
Additional details about technologies used on a particular Red Dunes website may be provided in a cookie notice or consent interface on that site. Red Dunes does not rely on or incorporate an unrelated third-party website privacy policy as its cookie notice.
11. Marketing Communications
If you subscribe to Red Dunes marketing communications, we may use your contact information to send news, game announcements, event information, and similar updates in accordance with your preferences and applicable law.
You may unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe method included in the communication or by contacting us. We may retain limited information on a suppression list to ensure that we continue to respect your opt-out choice. Service, security, legal, or transaction-related communications are not marketing messages and may still be sent where necessary.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our games, websites, technology, service providers, business practices, or legal obligations change. The current version will be published with an updated “Last updated” date.
Where a change materially affects how we process Personal Information, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required by applicable law. Your continued use of a Service does not constitute consent where applicable law requires separate affirmative consent.
